BIOGRAPHY & ACHIEVEMENTS


She began studying the violin at the Marjan Kozina Music School in Novo mesto. At the age of seven, she gave her first solo concert and received a special award for excellent musicianship from the Borsa di Studio at an international music competition in Italy.

Among other accomplishments, she received the 1st prize and absolute first place in the category of all instruments at the 14th International Competition in Udine, Italy in 2010 and the 1st prize and gold medal at the 6th International Competition "Ars nova" in Trieste.

In 2014, she participated in the international competition Culturale Musicale Euritmia, where she received the first prize and a special award for a brilliant and expressive performance of a composition. In December 2022, she won the absolute first prize at an international competition in Buje.

She was a member of the Piano trio Sensibile, which has received numerous first prizes and awards for achieving 100 points at national and international music competitions at home and abroad.

She studied at the Johann Josef Fux Conservatory in Graz with Professor Helfried Fister and has completed her high school education at the Maribor Conservatory of Music and Ballet, where she received Dr. Roman Klasinc award.

At the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, she studied with Prof. Elisabeth Kropfitsch and then continued her master's degree and additional postgraduate study with Prof. Anton Sorokow.

At the Music School Marjan Kozina in Novo mesto and at Music School Trebnje in 2021 she was teaching violin and viola.

In 2023, Manja successfully auditioned for the Berlin Opera Academy and the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, where she won tutti, the first violin position.

She regularly attends violin masterclasses with renowned professors such as Igor Ozim, Stefan Milenkovic, Latica Honda, Michael Frischenschlager, Gorjan Kosuta, Yu Lina, Igor Petroshevski, among others. She has also participated in the International Orchestra Institute Abergau with members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.

Manja was a recipient of scholarships from the Municipality of Novo Mesto and the Ministry of Culture, Slovenia.
